A Fun Day Had By All - Tommys Family Fun Day 2017

Posted on

This year we were lucky enough to open the Fun Day by releasing Doves to remember loved ones a really special moment and we are truly grateful to Lamberts White Dove Release for giving us the opportunity. Our Charity this year was The Connor Saunders Foundation it was a pleasure to spend the day with such an amazing family and their friends. You can find out more about them and the work they do here:

Although the weather started out nice and dry and quiet warm we were in for a drenching, the heavens opened and down it came. However it didnt dampen anyones spirits and it soon passed, thanks to Party Tents Events there was plenty of shelter till the rain passed.

We had entertainment this year from Wannado Street Dance  Singing Cool and Marmalade Drum Workshop they really were all fantastic!

British Transport Police and Network Rail were there to help spread the word about level crossing safety too!

There were fantastic food stalls this year we had Posh Spuds Carvery, Hey Amigos delicious crepes and Stuarts Bar b Que, the gorgeous burgers were donated by Malpass Markets Stuart also made some yummy cakes that ended up a bit soggy in the downpour.

We had rides, side shows, sand art, bungees, Go Karts craft stalls and business stalls, plenty for all the family to see and do, lots of families braved the Reptylers tent too!

We had a surprise visit from Magic Martin and Tricky Nikki who came along and did some balloon modeling for the kids they were fab!

I ended up running the dog show and i admit i wasnt very good at it, I will definately get the professionals in next year to help lol luckily there were loads of prizes, certificates and rossettes thanks to our sponsors Unleashed a lovely doggy day care and groomers in Worthing.

Tug of war was fun but some cheating was going I suspect but all in good spirits

We had two great Tombolas on the day with prizes donated by many friends and family aswell as Paladone in Shoreham and Mrs Brambles in Worthing thank you to our Tombola volunteers Debbie, Carole, Phil and Toni you all did a great job!

Fostering People South kindly sponsored the Cake Competition, Little Rachel won again this year with her yummy Victoria Sponge, well done Rachel!

The photos this year were take by professional photographer Kate Henwood from There are loads of photos on our Facebook page, you can purchase copies directly from Kate for £5 each with £2.50 being donated to Tommys Fund

Despite the weather we raised a fantastic £942 of which £500 was donated to our Charity of the Year The Connor Saunders Foundation with the remaining going into Tommys Fund

This wouldnt have been achieveable without our fantastic sponsors this year who were
